St. Brigid July 20, 2018 I thought, that I would go back and write posts for the days that I missed because I had no wifi, but instead I think I will try to capture the spirit of what was done on those days and how I and we are responding to them... On the second day of the pilgrimage, it rained all day.  We walked for 15 miles in the rain. Stopping for lunch at a church that had a marvelous stained class window with Brigid and ate our lunch from a local convience store.  We ate, 21 of us, stuffed into a small sacristy at the back of the church. It was the first time that I have eaten in the sacristy, although we were stuffed in there it was the beginning of our bonding. Then for the next few hours we walked, with someone in the front and a sweeper in the back holding Brigid's Signs.  We also walk with a candle for Brigid that is lit in a lantern and a shaman's staff.  Everyone walks at a different pace and so some arrive before others.  A driver al...

July 18, 2018 I have not posted for a few days, because we had no wifi and we have been so tired.  I will explain this more when I go back and finish the previous days post. Today was so full that I knew if I did not write something tonight, I would miss some of the experiences. Our days are so long and so full that I cannot possibly describe everything and so I think it best to hit the highlights and try to describe some of my feeling. Last night I hardly slept.  There are very few places to stay where we are and we ended up at Tara Lodge.  There is a small lodge with 3 twin rooms, and then two small cottages.   All these were full and so Kate and I are glamping.  Which means we are staying in a tent with a carpet on the floor and beds and nice linens.  Our host tells us this is better energetically.  When you open the flaps to our tent you see the animals in the pasture about 30 feet away.  There are donkeys and minature horses.  E...

July 13, 2018:  Day 1 of our Pilgrimage We awoke around 9:00.  I got a really good night sleep, Kate not so much, unfortunately.  We had time to shower, go down to breakfast and get packed up ready to leave to catch a bus at 12:30 at the airport.  The shuttle driver was very helpful, giving us information on the right bus to take. I was a little worried about how we would find our B&B once we arrived in Dundalk, a town about 50 minutes north of Dublin, but upon arrivng in town, we stopped at a red light and there it was. The bus driver gladly pulled over and let of off, rather than making us go to the bus station. We spent the next couple of hours wondering around town taking in the local flavor and visiting a few beautiful churches.  We found St. Patrick's which was grand and beautiful.  I took pictures, because I do love St. Patrick.  And if you look carefully at the stained glass windows you will see St. Patrick and St. Brigid. Aft...

The Call Yet the Lord pleads with you still: Ask where the good road is, the godly paths you used to walk in, in the days of long ago. Travel there and you will find rest for your souls.                                                                 -Jerimiah 6:16 Many years have passed since I first heard of St. Brigid's Way. It has been an organized walk for 6 years now.  I have been wanting to walk it for about 5 years and today it has finaly happend.  My sister Kate and I arrived in Dublin this afternoon after about 20 hours of traveling and much work before leaving home to ensure that all responsibilities were attended to so that we could travel. I hope that I have not forgotten anything. Doug assures me that he and Trixie will be well. And so now, it is time, to follow this call to see wher...
